Breaking Barriers: Adrianna Boswell

FläktGroup SEMCO’s Adrianna Boswell recently earned the "Winner of the Week" award from our global corporate headquarters for her outstanding work as a service tech! Adrianna's journey into the HVAC service technician role is a positive story of how working hard, being proactive, and having determination can lead to better things.

Initially working in our Morrilton, Arkansas factory, Adrianna inquired about an open service technician position. The hiring team recognized her skills and encouraged her to obtain the additional education she would need for the role. At a local college, Adrianna pursued Programmable Logic Controls training and successfully transitioned to the service tech role in May 2023. Since then, she has become an indispensable member of the service technician team. Clients and colleagues alike actively seek her expertise, a testament to the trust and respect she has earned. Adrianna happens to be the sole female service technician at FläktGroup SEMCO on a global scale. In the traditionally male-dominated field of HVAC Services, Adrianna Boswell stands out as a trailblazer and a testament to breaking gender stereotypes.

One of Adrianna's recent triumphs was her crucial role in the HVAC startup at the Columbus Zoo Manatee Aquarium. The Columbus Zoo is one of the few rescue and rehabilitation facilities that provide a temporary home for injured or abandoned manatees until they are ready for release back to the wild. The FläktGroup SEMCO Service Team and Adrianna played a pivotal part in meeting an accelerated deadline critical for the manatees’ health. Adrianna’s contributions ensured the manatees' habitat opened and maintained the optimal temperature.

Though the Columbus Zoo deserves all the hard work and recognition for their rescue work, our service team likes to think we played a small part. When discussing the project, some of our service team members immodestly and affectionately say, “We are saving the manatees!” Adrianna's hands-on involvement demonstrated not only FläktGroup SEMCO’s technical competence but also a commitment to projects with environmental and societal impacts.

Beyond the Columbus Zoo, Adrianna has showcased her technical prowess in various high-profile projects, including the U.S. National Archives library installation, where FläktGroup SEMCO’s work ensured the preservation of precious historical documents, in addition to key jobs like University 3.0, Oceans Tower, Preston Home, and the University of Southern Maine. We are proud she is part of the FläktGroup SEMCO team.
